North Devon Ruby Red Beef

The beef animals are reared entirely on grass - either in the form of fresh from the field, or as silage or hay in the Wintery months. The majority of them live outside all year round - farmers always have to be open minded as so much is weather dependant. If the fields become really wet and difficult to access for feeding, then we have to make a new plan! Fortunately we have a lovely big shed and a smaller shed which are very useful in these cirumstances.

Most of our animals are sold to an organic marketing co-operative, but we do still do the odd one for sale from the farm. We always hang our beef for 4-5 weeks.
