Pigs

We have got some pigs in the woods - two types - Mangalitsa pigs which are also known as the woolly pigs because of their curly coats. These have a very dark meat and are good for charcuterie; we have some partners we are working with to achieve this. We also have some Tamworth x Gloucester Old Spot pigs which are reknowned for their tastiness, which we hope to sell via local outlets.

Pigs are delightful and it is wonderful to see them in such a natural environment as the woods - they were made for it! The pigs will not be certified organic as the woods are not registered. However, we do manage them with the organic systems in mind and are feeding them with GM free food (not that they eat that much of it because of where they are living!).
